My Teaching Philosophy

My instruction is based on efficiency. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, I believe everyone can learn and benefit from focusing on the basics of quality sound production and efficiency in playing the trumpet.

Students should expect to learn new approaches to playing such as breathing techniques and embouchure optimization, and should be open to trying these concepts. I will work with students to develop sound technical skills and musicianship to advance their playing according to their respective level of ability.

Expectations

STUDENT (AND/OR FAMILY) RESPONSIBILITIES

· Be ready and open to learn! With a limited amount of time together, much of the work is done on your own. Be prepared to show the work you have done and to ask questions.

· Maintain your instrument. Coming to a lesson with an instrument in poor condition is not conducive for a productive lesson.

· Be on time to virtual or in-person lessons.

· Provide punctual payment of tuition and fees

Tuition & Fees

Tuition reserves a weekly spot in my studio for 1 month at a time, unless otherwise agreed upon. Tuition is to be paid monthly on or before the first lesson of each month. Payment is accepted via cash, check, Paypal or online through the student portal by credit/debit card. Payments a week or more late will incur a $10 late fee. Split payments or Pay-as-you go lessons are not permitted.

Tuition & Fees Continued

1 hour Lessons

$200/month (4 virtual or in-person lessons)

30-minute lessons

$125/month (4 virtual or in-person lessons)

Cancellation Policy:

Refunds will not be given for cancelled lessons. I will however accommodate illness, emergencies, or scheduling conflicts by rescheduling to a mutually convenient time if possible, however this is NOT guaranteed. If the instructor needs to cancel due to illness or emergency, I will work with you to reschedule at the earliest convenience.

Late Policy:

Please arrive on time for the lesson to start promptly whether in person or online. No refunds will be given for time missed due to late arrival. In the event you know you will be late, please inform me via text. If you are more than 15 minutes late without any communication, the lesson will be considered a cancellation.

Communication Policy:

Communication should be via phone/text or email. I will respond within 24 business hours, but will not be expected to communicate outside of normal business hours or weekends/holidays.
